VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA (October 28, 2011) – On Tuesday, November 1st, Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) will roll out its red carpet at Masik Studios to launch the much-anticipated week of shows and events. Andy Chu, creator and producer of FMA Entertainment Weekly, will host the VIP Opening Gala with his TV show hosts Meena Mann, Christie Will and Jeremy Szafron , kicking it off with a live performance from Pamela Masik and Vancouver-based musician Jag Arneja.
As an activist for women’s empowerment, Masik will be supporting Karma Exchange, an innovative charity that aims to end poverty, by donating 50 per cent of proceeds from the sale of three paintings to one of her own Karma Exchange projects. Andy Chu and FMA Weekly will endorse Masik and Karma Exchange’s pursuits in social justice by encouraging the audience to give generously, and buy a “Karma Drink†during the Opening Gala, which will continue to be available throughout VFW.
The VIP Opening Gala will also feature a stunning performance by Masik and Goh ballet Academy’s choreographer Meredith Kalaman. Goh Ballet Academy Canada debuted two works from the visionary dancer last spring, who has come a long way from her first ballet classes in Langley, British Columbia. With her grace and talent, Kalaman evokes powerful imagery and emotions that gala goers will revel in.
“FMA has been a long-time supporter of Pamela Masik, and local and international philanthropic endeavours. I feel that by hosting the Opening Gala for VFW, FMA helps provide Karma Exchange an excellent opportunity to promote its great work!†says FMA Creator and Executive Producer Andy Chu.
Vancouver Fashion Week is on from November 1st – 6th and will be held at Masik Studios located at 145 W 2nd Ave, Vancouver.
